On 1st July 2007, the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance became operational and since then has attended nearly 300 incidents, many of them life saving. Not everyone realises that the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance relies solely on the generosity of individuals and organisations to help it continue its life-saving work. As a charity, it needs £2,000 per day to keep its helicopter and highly trained crew in the air. That’s the equivalent of ¾ million every single year. It’s a tall order but with 2/3 incidents requiring emergency assistance each day, many lives are now being saving across the region.
