As of January 6th, a full lockdown has been declared.

 Accordingly, the King's Somborne Village Hall will be closed until further notice.

Preschool in the annex will, unless circumstances change, remain open.

Note: Following the announcements from the Government that apply from Monday 14 September, all hirers of the hall MUST abide by the guidelines published by the government that apply to Community Halls, as published here. Note, in particular,  the information in Para 3c. Recreation, leisure and social gatherings.

Following five months of closure it has now been agreed that the hall will reopen on the 1st September. Due to the existing Government Covid 19 regulations anyone hiring the hall will have to comply with some additional terms and conditions of hire. i.e.
  1. Face coverings MUST be worn in accordance with current Government requirements.
  2. Hirers will be responsible for cleaning the areas they are going to use before and after the period of hire for which each hirer will be given an extra 30 minutes free of charge before and after their session. Hirers must bring their own cleaning materials.
  3. Hirers will be responsible for cleaning their own equipment before and after their session.
  4. Any toys currently on site should not be used, hirers must bring their own toys and take them home afterwards.
  5. Hirers will be responsible for keeping a record of the names, addresses and email of all those attending each session
  6. A one-way system will be implemented. Enter through the main front entrance for all rooms but leave the Main Hall by the rear door, the Jubilee Room by the recreation ground doors and the Committee Room by the fire exit.
  7. Currently the disabled toilet will be the only one available which must be cleaned before and after each use and accessed using the one-way system.
  8. Hirers must bring their own rubbish sacks and take their rubbish home for disposal.
  9. The number of people in each room will be limited to:
  10.   Main Hall 30 * * These figures may be reduced according
    to applicable guidelines for the current tier level.

      Jubilee Room  7  *
      Jubilee Room Kitchen  1
      Committee Room  5  *
  11. The kitchen of the main hall and the kitchenette of the jubilee room will be available, hirers must adhere to the number restrictions as set out above. The hall crockery and cutlery cannot be used.
  12. The last person out will be responsible for locking the main entrance door and also the appropriate exit door.
Separate arrangements will be made for toilet facilities for football and cricket players.

Appropriate signage for guidance will be in place as will hand sanitisers at each entrance.

These are strange times in which we are living and I trust you will all understand the necessity for these additional requirements.

Please note that these Covid-19 additional requirements are subject to change in accordance with Government announcements.

The hall trustees reserve the right to cancel your booking at short notice should Government requirements make this necessary.

We need to know the following:

  Date of hire, Start and End times
  Room required (Main Hall, Jubilee Room, Committee Room, Pavilion)
  Your name, address (include postcode) and telephone number, also your email address if you are on email.

We will contact you by return. A booking confirmation will be sent to you, by email if possible.

Alcohol Licence

The Hall has its own alcohol licence. If you intend to sell alcohol at your function, or provide alcohol as an inducement (i.e. as part of the entrance price), the sale must be previously approved by the Management Committee. Please inform the Booking Secretary at the time of booking so that the appropriate arrangements can be made. You will be asked to complete an Application to sell Alcohol and forward this to the Invoice Clerk for approval.

Alcohol cannot be taken into or consumeed within the Annex.

Booking Rates from 1 January 2020 will be as follows:

Main Hall £16 per hour on Saturdays,
£11 per hour at all other times
Jubilee Room £9 per hour at all times
Committee Room £8 per hour at all times
Pavilion £8 per hour at all times

Please note that a deposit of £100 will be required in advance for any party event to cover damage or extra cleaning costs. This will be returned if the hall is left in a satisfactory condition.

Music Licences

The hall has a licence for live music but no longer has a Phonographic Licence so if you wish to play copyright music you must make your own arrangements with the Performing Rights Society or obtain non-copyright music from easily available web sites. This restriction does not apply to private parties or religious events.

You can include a flyer (preferably a .jpg file having about 1000 pixels maximum dimension height or width) for forthcoming events.
