There has been an increase in red diesel and heating oil thefts in the area. Most thefts seem to take place shortly after delivery have been made and it if you are likely to be procuring oil over the coming months, it is well worth considering deterrent devices such as alarms and senor lighting as well as remotely monitoring your tank using devices such as the popular Watchman Oil monitor which is also available with alarm. Making access to your tank difficult and keeping it locked will also deter opportunist thieves. As always if you see anyone or vehicle acting in a suspicious manner or hear anything please report on 101 or if a crime is taking place call 999 |
