FOR YOUR INFORMATION
Current rural theft trends
Please be aware that we are still receiving reports of theft of power tools during non dwelling burglaries, this type of property is identifiable by serial number, but in a lot of cases the serial numbers are not known by the victims. Please ensure you record the serial number of your property. Consider registering them with Immobilise.com. Likewise, we are still receiving reports of equine related thefts, tack theft, rugs left out on stable doors, or even being taken from horses in the field. Please post code your property to make it less desirable to the offenders. When not in use please keep equipment in secure locations. We have also had reports of the theft of hay bales and jump poles and wings. Please post code your jump equipment and if possible store in a secure area when not in use. Consider cutting the baling twine on your hay bales making it difficult for the offenders to move the bales. Please store wheel barrows away in a secure area, it is quite common for these to be used to remove the property by the thieves. Please continue to report suspicious incidents. Please try to note down vehicle registration numbers and any descriptions of people involved, and report it to the Police via the 101 number. Hampshire Constabulary Country Watch Team |
