Hitting the Cold Spots- winter 2012/13

Hitting the Cold Spots is Hampshire's winter 2012/13 project to support the Cold Weather Plan for England 2012.  It is funded  by the Department of Health Warm Homes Healthy People fund.  The project aims to reduce the effect of cold housing and fuel poverty by providing  information and practical help, as well as support to provide sustainable changes for the future.

The project includes the following main elements
1.  Information packs to hand out to individuals and families who you consider would benefit from the contents.  The pack comes in the form of an A4 envelope containing a range of information leaflets; a room thermometer; a snood; Buy With Confidence brochure and most importantly details of a free phone number to the Environment Centre’s information and advice line (0800 804 8601).  They are providing practical telephone support as well as arranging, when requested, a free visit from an Advisor.

Many of you have already requested your packs for this winter, but the good news is that due to further funding being made available we are able to offer more packs!

If you would like to order packs to be delivered directly to a specified address in Hampshire then please fill in the simple application form attached and return to wellbeing@hants.gov.uk.

2.  For advice and support, the Environment Centre is providing a free phone  Hampshire information line, the number is 0800 804 8601 where their local team of friendly, trained staff is ready to help.  They can also refer to a Hitting the Cold Spots advisor who will visit individuals in their own homes to provide more practical and emotional support.
