After many months of hard work The Sombornes Pre-School will finally open its doors to its first children on Tuesday 6th September. As a committee we extend a big thank you to everyone who has helped us get to this point - we couldn't have done it without the support of the whole community.

Our newly appointed Supervisor, Zoe Stevens, comes to us from a successful day nursery in Hythe and is raring to take on the challenge of getting our village Pre-School up and running. She already has experience of working in a committee-led setting following the early years learning guidelines, so will be great asset to the team and is full of fantastic ideas to help the children get the most out of their time with us.
We will be holding an Open Morning for the Pre-School on Saturday 17th September, so if you're interested in registering your child, or simply want to see what we've been up to, please pop along to the village hall between 10am and midday and meet the team.
In addition to all the committee meetings and interviews, our first colouring competition, which took place back in June at the Beer Festival was won by Alice Chadwick (3) from King's Somborne. Well done to Alice, and to all the children who entered despite having their artistic efforts hampered by the horizontal rain!
Finally, the Pre-School is also looking to replace or upgrade some of its equipment. Please see the box above for a list of good-quality donations needed. If you feel you may have something you'd like to donate, we'd love to hear from you. We are also still registering children for start dates later in the school year. Our session times can be found on The Sombornes website, or get in touch with Lucy Chadwick on 01794 389 587 or firstname.lastname@example.org for more information or to discuss a donation.
