PRAYER LIST for the week beginning 18th. October
This week we remember with gratitude the work of St Luke, his gospel which teaches us about Jesus, his invaluable account of the beginnings of our Church and his companionship and service alongside St Paul. He was a doctor and so this week we give special thanks for those called to be healers.
Please pray for the Church’s ministry of healing and for all who serve in our health service, in care homes and at home with loved ones. Pray that all called to heal will be inspired with love and compassion for their patients and equipped with the skills they need. Pray for the healing of any known to us whose health of body, mind or spirit is a matter of concern. Pray for all who without faith and for those whose faith has been shaken.
Please pray for our Church here and for our ministry team. Pray for guidance as we look to the future and plan new ventures in the name of Christ. Pray for Family Friday and for all our work with young families. Pray that we shall grow closer together in harmony and peace as we approach new things in faith and trust.
Please continue to pray for peace in all places where there is suffering, violence or war. Pray for those forced to flee from their homes and to become refugees. Pray for help to reach them and kindness and understanding for their plight. Pray for all relief agencies and for God’s hand to be upon all their efforts to bring food and medicine to those in such desperate need.
Please pray for the sad and the bereaved as we plan for our Remembering Service. Pray that it will be a time of comfort and healing for all who come and that they will know Christ’s love is ever close to them.
Please pray for the grace to proclaim Christ’s gospel joyfully by word, deed and in the way we live our lives.
