PRAYER LIST for the week beginning 11th. October.
This week our reading from St Paul offers us advice and encouragement for our prayers. “The Lord is near. Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Please pray for our Church here and for all who minister to us. Pray for our national Church and its leaders. Pray for many to hear the call of Christ to ministry in His Church. Pray for the new lay leaders in our diocese who are being commissioned this weekend.
Please pray for our individual calls to service in our Church here. Pray that we will seek to live and to serve in the way God directs. Pray that we will be people who hear His word and try to do His will. Pray that we might think on what is good and then practice it. Pray for discernment as we look to the future of our Church.
Please pray for peace in our world. Pray for all people of faith to have freedom to worship and to live in peace and without fear. Pray for places where peace must seem impossible, for places of fear and terror, for those living with destroyed homes and shattered lives. Pray for leaders who will seek peace and justice and for all bringing aid to the world’s trouble spots.
Please continue to pray for our partners in South Rwenzori, where the drought has had terrible consequences and has made planting new crops impossible. Pray for all places where hunger threatens as a result of changes in weather patterns. Pray for better stewardship of this earth.
Please pray for our Family Friday venture and for our hopes for increased contact with children and young people in the name of Christ. Please continue to pray for the sick, the grieving and the lonely. Pray for healing, hope and kindness to reach them and comfort them.
Pray that the peace which is beyond our understanding will fill our hearts and minds so that we may serve God and live together in peace and with joy.
