Prayers for 4th October

PRAYER LIST for the week beginning 4th October.

This week, as we celebrate harvest time and give thanks for the bounty God provides and for our many blessings, we might like to use the following prayer; “Come Holy Spirit, shape us in your love, enable us by your power, equip us with your grace. Form the character of Christ within us, establish His ministry through us, that with dynamic kindness lives may be transformed, creation and community renewed, to be something beautiful for God.”

Please pray for our Church here and all our members. Pray for the power to live with compassion and generosity and to use our blessings for the sake of others. Pray with thanksgiving for the rich harvest we enjoy in this lovely place and for the security we have. Pray that we will be sensitive to God’s guiding as we look to our future and that He will show us His plan for the growth of His kingdom in this parish.

Please pray for our village communities, and for all the people who attended our Harvest supper. Pray for all whom we encounter in our daily lives and pray for Family Friday happening this week. Pray for the ability to live as Christ wishes us to do amongst those we meet.

Please pray for the work of the Winchester Beacon where we send our harvest gifts. Pray for the successful rehabilitation of those who turn to the Beaconbecause they have lost everything, including their way in life. Pray for the professionals and volunteers who help them and pray with thanks for the privilege of being able to support that work.

Please pray for our partners in South Rwenzori. They have asked for our prayers as they face a devastating drought which makes it impossible to plant seeds for a new crop.

Please pray for peace in the world and especially in the Gaza Strip, as they mark the third anniversary of that conflict. Pray for refugees and for all who seek to bring aid to those in the greatest need.

Pray with thanksgiving for the gifts we enjoy and that we will be mindful of them and of our responsibilities. Pray that we will be led into ever more generous sharing in Christ’s name.
