PRAYER LIST for the week beginning 27th. September.
This week our readings lead us to think about how we live together. St Paul says these words to a Church community he loves deeply; “Make my joy complete: be of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. In humility regard others as better than yourselves. Let each of you look not to your own interests, but to the interests of others.”
Please pray that those words might be the made real in our Church community. Pray that we will seek to be a generous people offering our time, talents and money to the service of God and one another.
Please pray with thanksgiving for the beauty of the created world all around us. Pray for better awareness of the need to protect and preserve the earth, as we rejoice in its bounty. Pray for farmers and food producers and especially as they cope with climate extremes and the effects of global warming.
Please pray for our partner diocese in South Rwenzori, coping with extreme drought which is making it almost impossible to plant and grow crops successfully. Pray for politicians and business leaders who manage economies and have responsibilities for the environment.
Please pray for our nation and our government leaders as they seek ways of dealing with the many problems confronting them. Pray that they may have wisdom and seek justice in their decision-making. Pray for peaceful solutions to the conflicts in so many places.
Please pray for those bearing burdens of pain, bereavement, anxiety or financial worries. Pray that they will be aware of God’s presence in their lives, helping them towards healing and wholeness.
