PRAYER LIST for the week beginning 29th. March
We begin Holy Week with the triumphant procession of Palm Sunday and shouts of Hosanna. “Jesus enters Jerusalem on a humble donkey, accompanied not by troops but by ordinary followers, embodying a kingdom of humility, nonviolence and service.”
Please pray with thankfulness for communities of welcome and service, for people who choose the way of peace over the way of power, for acts of kindness that shine with the love of God. Pray for courage to follow Jesus in humility, service and compassion.
Please pray for our Church this Eastertide, for all our services and for all our encounters with others. Pray for all who may come to join our acts of worship, that hearts will be lifted and the Holy Spirit be present in power amongst us.
Please continue to pray for peace in our world. Pray for all areas where warfare rages, for people divided by hatred or fear, for leaders who wield power and bear responsibility, for all who suffer as a result of conflict. Pray for peacemakers and peacekeepers, and for all who fear for the safety of loved ones.
Please pray for the people of South Rwenzori as they rejoice in the opening of their new water pump on Holy Saturday. Pray for Sabine and Chris as they represent us there. Pray for all travellers that they will have refreshment and safe returns.
Please pray for the sick, the sad and the lonely. Pray for those despairing and those bereaved. Pray for healing of body and mind and for comfort and hope to come to all in need. Pray that we will be sensitive to those around us and offer them the warmth of friendship and a glimpse of the love that God has for all His people.
