PRAYER LIST for the week beginning 16th March
This week our readings challenge us to seek an ever closer relationship with God, as we journey through Lent. It might be good to reflect on Psalm 27; “Trust the Lord! Be brave and strong and trust the Lord.”
Please pray for peace in our hearts and trust in God’s goodness as we begin the search for our new Associate Priest. Pray that suitable candidates will see the advertisement and feel moved to respond. Pray for insight and wisdom for the team making the appointment. Pray that everyone will consider our needs and give helpful input to the representatives.
Please pray for all the activities of our Church as we journey through Lent. Pray for the Lent talks and lunches, for the plans for the celebration of Easter, and for all our community life such as our soup mornings and craft mornings. Pray for our school and for a successful search for new governors. Pray for the Pre-school and for Messy Church.
Please pray for peace in the Ukraine and for ceasefires in Gaza, leading to a much needed permanent peace. Pray for all who are working towards these goals and for all trying to bring relief to the victims of war and aggression.
Please continue to pray for our linked diocese in South Rwenzori and the many difficulties they have to overcome. Pray for generous hearts in ourselves which will hear and respond to those needs as well as we can. Pray for our own diocese and for our Cathedral, going through a time of turmoil and change. Pray for the leadership of our diocese and of our national Church, that they will all be given guidance and discernment in the decisions which lie ahead.
Please pray for all who are sick or bearing the burden of bereavement. Pray for healing of body, mind and spirit and for an awareness of Christ walking beside them in their troubles.
Please pray that we will be renewed by our worship together and strengthened by our fellowship with one another.
