PRAYER LIST for the week beginning 3rd November
This week begins with our services for All Saints and All Souls, a time for both looking back and forward. Hebrews tells us “Since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and sin that clings so closely, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfecter of our faith.”
Please pray with thanksgiving for all who have gone before us and have taught and inspired us, bringing us to faith. Pray for the ongoing mission and purpose of the Church, both here and everywhere. Pray for senior clergy and for all with responsibilities in Christ’s Church that they will be upheld and supported by the Holy Spirit. Pray that their lives will be examples to all of us and that more and more will seek to know Our Lord.
Please pray for our community here. Pray that we will all seek to be quick to forgive and slow to condemn in our dealings with one another. Pray for peace in our families, in our friendships and in our workplaces. Pray that we will not be so concerned with our own problems that we lack concern for those of others. Pray that Christ will help us to be part of showing His love for all His people here.
Please continue to pray for peace in the world and for all places where there is conflict and instability. Pray for aid to reach the needy and for protection for those who face danger to help others. Pray for our peacekeeping forces and for the families who fear for them. Pray that compassion will move the hearts of the powerful and bring an end to needless suffering.
Please pray for all who mourn and who bear the burdens of bereavement and anxiety. Pray that comfort and an awareness of being supported will be theirs. Pray that Christ will bring them to healing and hope.
Please pray with thankfulness for those who have helped us in times of need and for all who have pointed us towards Christ’s kingdom.
