Members of the King’s Somborne WI and their guests met on 10th October with their President Sarah Pennington in the Chair. After a brief business meeting they were introduced to the hobby of card making.
Two members, Mary Pollock and Janet Pearson, demonstrated how to decorate blank cards using many different techniques. One group learnt the art of tea bag folding whilst others used templates to draw floral baskets which they coloured and attached extra paper flowers or bows before gluing them to their cards.
The meeting ended with a grand display of the newly made cards. Mary and Janet were thanked for all the hard work they had gone to, to make the evening such a success.
The next meeting will take place on 14th November, when Simon Morgan will lecture on “A brief history of Saxophones and Clarinets”.
